Julian Emir is the founder and chief executive of Kantesti Ltd, a bootstrapped AI platform that reads a laboratory blood test and explains it in the patient's own language. It has been used by more than two million people in one hundred and twenty-seven countries, across more than seventy-five languages, each version built against its own country's laboratory reports rather than translated from English. He runs fourteen properties in total, comprising a parent company, seven European arms, two further companies, three brands and a foundation, with no outside investment and no team. He divides his time between London and Naples.

Kantesti is an AI platform that takes a laboratory blood test, the page of numbers most people receive by email and cannot read, and explains it marker by marker in the language the report was printed in.

He has worked with machine learning since the age of twelve, now in his thirteenth year, and began Kantesti in 2019 with a language model of four and a half million parameters, built to write a two-sentence summary of a blood panel. Six years on, that experiment runs at 2.78 trillion parameters and interprets blood tests and DNA tests, recommends supplements, produces health reports and advises on diet.

He built it alone and has never raised outside money. What started as a single tool became fourteen properties, including a global parent company, seven European arms serving France, Czechia, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany and Hungary, two separately incorporated companies in Poland and Türkiye, three English-language brands, and a foundation. Each national version was built against that country's own reports, reference ranges and units, on the argument that a translated interface is not the same thing as a local one.

More than two million people in one hundred and twenty-seven countries have used it. The work is supported by Microsoft for Startups, NVIDIA Inception and Google Cloud, and he is a member of AIPAC. He left a degree in artificial intelligence at the University of Milan in 2021 to continue in trade and innovation instead.

His stated aim is to raise the quality of health for as many people as possible, on the argument that a blood test is the cheapest widely available window into a human body and that most are never explained to the person they belong to. He works between London and Naples.
